What the plan covers, platform by platform

Our website maintenance services suit a live site that brings in sales or leads, with nobody in house to keep it updated. If your site is small, rarely changes and sells nothing directly, fixing things as they break may be the better deal, and a Shopify or Webflow site with few apps needs less than a busy WordPress store. New features and redesigns are quoted separately.

Updates

Core, theme and plugin updates, tried on a staging copy where your hosting allows one, and after a backup where it does not.

WordPress, WooCommerce

Backups

Off-site copies on a schedule set in the plan, and a fresh copy before each round of updates.

WordPress, WooCommerce

Security

Malware scans and firewall rules, with action when a plugin has a known flaw.

WordPress, WooCommerce

Apps and theme

A theme copy before changes, and a review of apps and the code they leave behind.

Shopify

Site upkeep

Forms, custom code and integrations checked, with a restore point before larger changes.

Webflow

Uptime

Monitoring that alerts us when the site goes down.

All platforms

Speed

Mobile load time and layout shift, measured against Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds.

All platforms

Search errors

Indexing and crawl errors that Google reports, passed to you with what they mean.

All platforms

Small changes

Text, images and small layout changes your team sends.

All platforms

What changes on WordPress, Shopify and Webflow

Platform What the platform does for you What the plan covers
WordPress

Installs minor core releases by itself by default. Plugins, theme, hosting and backups stay with you.

Core, theme and plugin updates, off-site backups, malware scans and firewall rules.

WooCommerce

Runs on WordPress, so the same applies, and an update can also affect the cart and checkout.

The WordPress list, plus a run through the cart and checkout after updates.

Shopify

Runs the hosting and the platform, so there is no core to update. There is no one-click full backup: you export CSV files and download the theme, and orders cannot be imported back through the admin.

Theme copies, app reviews and regular exports. A theme copy holds no orders or customers, so any backup app is named in the plan.

Webflow

Runs the hosting, with no plugins to update. It saves restore points as you work and has no scheduled backups.

Content and layout changes, checks on forms and custom code, and a restore from Webflow's own backups when one is needed.

Talk it through on a call

We look at what you have now and what you want it to do.

We tell you how we would do it and who would work on it.

You get a fixed quote in writing after the call, with nothing to sign until you are ready.

How the first months run

You approve the written plan before we touch anything, and any work beyond routine care needs your yes. Updates run in a quiet window for your time zone, and requests and reports go in writing, so a time gap does not hold them up.

What you keep if you leave

Your site, domain and hosting stay in your accounts, and we work through logins you can remove. Work we make under the plan is transferred to you once it is paid for, under the contract. The fixed quote depends on the platform, the number of plugins or apps, the condition of the site and how many small changes you expect. The term and notice period are written into your plan before work starts.

Monthly report

What we updated, fixed and checked, in plain words.

Suggestions

What to fix or improve next, with the reason. You decide.

Backups and exports

Copies kept the way your platform allows, as listed in your plan.

Your accounts

We work through your own logins, so nothing moves out of your name.

What happens when something breaks

Response times and cover outside normal hours are agreed in writing in the plan before work starts, so you can hold us to them.

Site down

Monitoring alerts us. We find out whether the cause is the host, a recent change or the platform, and tell you what we found.

A bad update

On WordPress we go back to the copy taken before the update. On Shopify we return to the saved theme copy. On Webflow we use a restore point.

A hacked site

We close the way in, restore a clean copy where one exists and change the logins. Your plan says whether clean-up is covered or quoted on its own.

A flaw with no fix yet

Updates cannot cover this. Patchstack, a security vendor, reports that 91% of new WordPress flaws in 2025 were in plugins and 46% had no fix when disclosed. We then block the route in, or switch off or replace the plugin, with your approval.

Website Care covers out-of-hours outages and hacks as far as your plan says: response times and cover are agreed in writing before work starts. If you need someone on call around the clock, raise it on the first call and we will tell you plainly whether we can cover it.

Yes, Website Care can start on a site another team built, after a site check. Urgent problems from the check are agreed with you first, then fixed or quoted before regular care begins.

On WordPress and WooCommerce, updates are tried on a staging copy first where your hosting allows one. If it does not, we take a backup first and check the main pages straight after. Shopify and Webflow have no core updates to test, so we work on a theme copy or from a restore point before changes.

No, Website Care works through your own accounts, and nothing moves out of your name. If your host blocks backups or staging, the site check will say so and you can decide what to do about it.

The term and notice period for Website Care are written into your plan before work starts. If you leave, your site, domain and accounts are already yours, so you remove our logins and carry on.

You get one fixed quote for a care plan after one call. The quote depends on the platform, the number of plugins or apps, the condition of the site and how many small changes you expect.
